AvAir Acquires Parts Inventory of TAP Maintenance & Engineering Brazil
More than 4,000,000 Items added to Existing Stock
CHANDLER, Ariz. – AvAir, an industry-leading inventory solutions provider for the aviation aftermarket, has acquired TAP Maintenance & Engineering Brazil’s entire inventory. More than 100,000 line items were obtained by AvAir from TAP M&E.
TAP M&E Brazil (formerly VEM Maintenance & Engineering) is a company of TAP Portugal Group, one of the world’s 10 largest aircraft and component maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) companies in the world.
AvAir has purchased TAP M&E Brazil’s vast inventory of rotable and expendable parts from its Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre facilities. This inventory serviced narrow and widebody aircraft for most Boeing and Airbus fleet types. This inventory will be relocated to AvAir’s Chandler warehouse.
“Costs and lead times continue to increase across the board to buy new or repair existing parts. CHANDLER, Ariz. – AvAir, an industry-leading inventory solutions provider for the aviation aftermarket, has expanded its management agreement with (GEAM) with an additional 20,000 line items bringing the total amount under management to over 90,000 components. The inventory management program now covers CF34 engine material in addition to the already managed inventories including CF6, GE90, and GEnx applications.
GE Aviation Materials, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aerospace, is a world-leading provider of used serviceable material and TrueChoice Transitions™ solutions: Green time Lease, custom work scopes, Engine/Module exchanges, consignment, lessor integration and portability products for GE Aerospace’s commercial engine programs. AvAir’s Chandler, Arizona-based facility will continue to manage the inventory that will now expand offerings to AvAir’s regional commercial operators and lessors of CF34 engines on aircraft including Embraer 170/190 and Bombardier CRJ700/900/1000. It also will expand its support to AvAir’s business aviation customers who own/operate CF34-3 engines on various Bombardier Challenger aircraft.
With this growing partnership AvAir’s support of the GE MRO Network expands to add CF34 in addition to the established support offered on CF6, GE90, and GEnx aircraft.
This agreement and other recent asset management contracts support AvAir’s growth plan which includes evaluating additional strategic affiliations throughout the industry to continue to expand the company’s global offerings.

Arizona Resident Set to Complete Rookie Race Year at General Tire 100 in Watkins Glen NY
CHANDLER, Ariz. – Chandler-based AvAir, an industry-leading inventory solutions provider for the aviation aftermarket is proud to announce its sponsorship of Arizona resident, Frankie Muniz’s ARCA Menards Series 13th race. The race is Friday, Aug. 18 at the General Tire 100 in Watkins Glen New York.
Muniz races full-time in the ARCA Menards Series for Rette Jones Racing in the team’s No. 30 Ford. Muniz is an actor-turned-driver who starred in FOX’s “Malcolm in the Middle” among other TV shows and movies.
“As an Arizona based company we are proud to share our passion through our work around the world, and support Frankie in his quest to do the same – who also calls Arizona home,” said Zach Hall, vice president of business development at AvAir. “We’re excited to see Frankie conquering the ARCA Menards Series in his rookie year and we look forward to seeing the AvAir blue on the car Friday,”
This will be the first time Muniz will race at Watkins Glen in an ARCA car and aims to improve on his sixth-place road course showing at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course last month. This is the first time AvAir has sponsored Muniz.

“I am excited to return to a road course this weekend and the opportunity to turn lefts and rights as such an iconic track in New York,” said Muniz. “I expect the race to be extremely competitive, but I think we will make strong gains from the practice to qualifying and then the race that will allow us to contend for our second top-five finish of the season.”
The team from AvAir will also be in New York this week at the ACPC (Air Carriers Purchasing Conference) event showcasing AvAir as a leader in the aviation industry and supporting Muniz’s efforts.
